Welcome Baby Boy.

I’ll be honest, I was never one of those girls who grew up saying, “I can’t wait to be a Mom.” I knew I always wanted to start a family one day but it was never one of those instinctual gut feelings like that was my purpose in life. However, now that I am a Mom… I know this was my purpose.

Honeymoonin’

Will and I opted out of a traditional wedding registry since we were already homeowners and were blessed with a home full of all of our necessities. Instead, we opted for a ‘Honeymoon Fund‘ for guests to contribute to our dream honeymoon since we had never actually splurged on a fancy vacation just the two of us! (You can find resort information under ‘recommendations’).

Our first day there, we took a swim in the most dreamy seaside pool at sunset. After a couple glasses of Rosé, I wrapped my arms around Will’s neck, looked him in the eyes and said – “I think we should have a baby.” Surprisingly, he agreed.

I’ll never forget this night. Pure magic. I knew from this night on, our lives would never be the same, but in the best way. I had patiently waited for this life, and now it was mine. Everything I had every wished for, transpired in front of my eyes. I finally had met my soulmate, we were married and about to write our next chapter of our lives together. . .

Soulmate, noun

“The one with whom you share a connection of minds, a mutual respect, an unconditional love and a total understanding.

When there is a meeting of mind, spirit and body with the one whose strengths, flaws and energy perfectly compliments your own.”

Ironically, I took my last birth control pill in the pack the day of our wedding, June 8, 2019. A couple days later on our honeymoon Will and I decided to officially start “trying.” After no luck the first couple months and relying on a period app I had on my phone, I decided to order some ovulation strips. The first time I saw I was actually ovulating from the test strip, I realized the general ‘ovulation scale’ on my app was totally off – actually it was off by as much as 4-5 days. I had no idea the teeny tiny window you had to actually conceive! Out of curiosity I tested again the next day and it said negative. Crazy! The stars aligned for us, and we were so blessed, lucky and shoked that that one month, we hit the target.

Walker made is big debut a couple weeks early on April 30th, 2020. Smack dab in the middle of a global pandemic. I was induced two weeks early, due to late onset hypertension (blood pressure). The day my doctor decided to induce me, my BP was 135/94, YIKES.

Our sweet boy arrived at 9:19pm weighing 7lbs 7oz and measuring 20.75″. Our lives were changed forever.
